Drae Charles, was born and raised in Sacramento, CA, before relocating to Eugene, OR, at 21. Initially pursuing a career in law enforcement, he discovered he could pursue his passion for investigative work as a Licensed Private Investigator (PI), while simultaneously focusing on positive community relationships and societal change. He obtained his PI and Executive Management licenses and founded the Eugene Consulting Group, offering education and consulting services on Justice and Belonging for both private and public sectors. Later, he joined Lane County Youth Services, providing educational support, resources, training, and community for adjudicated youth, particularly from marginalized communities, deepening his commitment to advocacy and community support.
Drae is currently engaged with numerous organizations, including serving as Human Rights and Equity Analyst for the City of Eugene, Legal Redress Chair for the Eugene Springfield NAACP, School Board Director for the Bethel School District, JEDI Council Chair for the Co-op Family Center, and Founder and Owner of the Eugene Consulting Group. He has also founded multiple community-focused groups or organizations such as the Oregon Sharks Rugby Academy, Eugene Rugby Football Club, and the Co-op Family Center’s Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council.
